Peter Grandich joined us today for a look at the rising gold and silver markets. Gold broke $1300 today. No one can dispute that the markets have been behaving differently. The usual employment numbers release accompanied by a predicatble raid on the metals hasn't happened in the last two months and Peter believes that this is just the beginning. Rising physical demand and the shift of the market's epicent to Asia are just two reasons. Stay tuned for more. Peter's also got a nice financial planning tool for cash flow investors that he'd like to share with you. Just email us and we'll put you in touch.

TheStreet.Com's Ross Kenneth Urken discusses the future of online college education. More than 6 million students now are simply opening up their laptop — instead of trudging through Old Main — to learn career skills and complete degrees. But is an online chat really the same amount as a visit to your professor during office hours? And what will the impact be on brick and mortar eductation? Time will tell.

Ryan Mauro is an expert on American Middle Eastern Policy. He believes that the Afghanistan War has actually had its share of successes, but that we've blown it with our policy towards Iran and other countries in the Middle East. The problem is believing that their logical strategy mean they have logical goals, which clearly isn't the case.

Jason Hartman and I discussed the possiblity of an economic collapse in the US and abroad. Jason thinks it's unlikely, whereas I believe it's becoming more likely by the day. Unfortunately, there's no timetable for this eventuality, so you've got to act as if it's never going to happen, while planning as if it might happen tomorrow. A difficult task at best. But don't lose hope, if you listen to Jason and myself, you'll do just fine.
